This WDC has been established in the college with the purpose of establishing a campus free from all the biases and prejudices against females. A committee consisting of the faculty members looks after the issue of safety of all females (girl students, women teachers and staff members) within the campus. It also looks into the matter of solving any kind of gender based physical, mental or psychological discrimination faced by any female. The committee is actively involved in organizing various functions like self defense programmes, debates, plays and talks by several women activists, etc. Members of the Faculty of Law and known activist also visit the college regularly to enlighten the Female students about their legal rights.


The SC/ST Cell of the college was constituted to ensure that adequate representation is given to SC/ST candidates in the matter of appointments to the teaching and non-teaching posts, allotment of quarters and admission in various courses of studies and also to ensure effective implementation of the reservation policies and programmes. The Cell organizes a scholarship camp not only for the SC, ST and OBC students, but also for the students belonging to poor and minority background every year. In this camp, the needy students from all the categories are informed about various scholarship schemes of the Delhi Administration as well as the Central Government. The Cell actively works for the welfare of the students by focusing on the establishment of counter for admission assistance and distribution of free scholarship forms to students during the admission period. 
Note: Dr. Surendra Kumar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of History is the SC/ST Liaison Officer in the college. A separate Liaison Officer for issues regarding OBC students is maintained. Ms Divya Singh, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Physics and Electronics is the person concerned.


The Equal Opportunity Cell was established by the University of Delhi on 27th June 2006 to address the issues related to SC/ST, the OBC and minorities and the physically challenged on a continual basis. The main problems faced by people viewed as disabled, or ‘with disabilities’, or of minority status, stems from disabling environmental, economic and cultural barriers. Disability and minority are therefore equal rights issues on a par with other forms of unjustifiable discrimination and prejudices. As part of its mission statement, the EOC ensures the following:

  1. Affirmative actions concerning SC, ST and OBC.
  2. A barrier free access to all buildings of Colleges, Departments, Libraries, Hostels and Offices of the University.
  3. Smooth and efficient running of a Resource Centre that specialises in addressing the needs of PwDs in all categories including Visual, Hearing, Orthopaedic, and Neurological.
  4. No discrimination on grounds of disability or minority status.
  5. Short term courses for imparting employable skills for the disabled and for raising awareness about disability.
  6. Reaching out to like-minded institutes and organisations dealing with similar issues.

The committee seeks to maintain and create sexual harassment free academic and work environment for students and all the staff members. The members are as follows:

Placement cell is a platform in an institute where the industry and the students interact for the purpose of employment of outgoing students. It provides employment opportunities to the final year students through interviews, group discussions and tests that take place in the college premises. Most of the companies usually give presentations of their company profile before they conduct the interviews. In this presentation the students are also made aware of the nature of their jobs, salary structures/ perks, promotion avenues and advanced studies facilities. In fact today, most of the companies are also providing postgraduate degree facilities along with the jobs the candidates take up with their companies. This way the students are able to pursue sponsored advanced studies along with their jobs. Through the placement cell many students each year gets positions in reputed organizations.
